I’m actually having a lot of fun with my new toy. The tutorials in Garage Band are easy to follow and I’m starting to pick up the basics. I just need to solve my mysterious hardware problem. it is mysterious. I’m learning the Day Man song, because its like four chords repeated over and over until you can never get it out of your head.

Old cartoons are really awesome. I actually see a lot of parallels in the content of old cartoons and movies and the content and style of media online. Which is why this so called “new media” feels bullshit to me. Theres probably a whole book concept here if I had the interest in developing it.

speaking of new media, a lot of my friends are telling me I should major in “new media” at my local university. The program itself seems interesting its sort of like MIT’s media lab where they give you a lot of skill sets for doing a little bit of everything like video editing, animation, programming, graphic design and what not, so that you can make cool use of all the new technology and become internet famous. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I can’t personally conceive of how anyone could major in a buzz word. A pretty pathetic buzzword at that. There is some cool stuff in the degree program because a lot of what you do is self directed but if I’m paying for a degree I think it should command some respect when people see it right?

Seriously I don’t know how this store does it, its apparently been open for years but were shocked that someone wanted to buy things from their store. They didn’t even own a pen to sign things with because they owned exactly one pen and it was stolen :/ Also theres a different store and they get angry when you try to buy stuff because it means they have to stop painting miniatures or playing magic. and then one of them almost ran into my car and was just like w/e so I refuse to buy things from them
